This is a brief overview of how to sell your designs on this web site. A lot more detail will be provided in the training manual you get on sign-up. Or you can ask as many questions as you like before deciding!

SUPER-QUICK Overview of how to register as a designer!! 1. Register as a Customer (link here) 2. Register as a Designer (link here) 3. Choose Free or Paid membership (link here). Go to the shopping basket (left side of the page) and complete the purchase. 4. While waiting for your membership to be approved, you can read your Designer Training Manual. Download it here. 5. Once your designer application has been approved, you can start entering your products - all the details on how to do that are in the manual. 6. Once your products are approved, they will be available for sale. You will be paid monthly, a percentage of the sales! |
A designer is a person who has an original design (or an e-book, or video, or other downloadable product) that is craft-related. You can also sell files such as machine embroidery files or clip art. You must own the copyright on the product you want to sell - no selling other peoples' designs!
| A little word here about copyright. When you submit a product to me to sell, you are telling me you have the legal right to sell that product. Do NOT try to sell anything on the site that isn’t your own design, unless you have a legal right to do so. I don’t want to be sued for trying to sell something you have stolen. I am trusting you that you have the legal right to sell what you are offering, and so if you put an item up for sale on the site, and anyone complains about it not being your design, it will taken down immediately pending discussion between you and the person who complained. If I get too many complaints against you, you will be removed from the site and banned. |
To become registered as a designer on this site, you first register as a customer using the Register link at the top of the page. Then register as a designer, and pay your annual registration fee.
There are two types of membership currently being offered - free and paid. The free membership is, well, free (!) but you get a lower percentage of the sales of your products than with the paid membership.
Note that if you want the free membership you still need to go through the process of "buying" membership, simply so that I know which one you want!
Once you have registered, an email is sent to me, Christine, by the system to say a new designer has registered. I check the fee has been paid (or free membership selected), and if necessary I will email you for more information. If I am happy you are suitable for the site, I will approve you. Otherwise I will refund you membership (if paid) and explain why.
Once approved, you receive a comprehensive training manual, and your admin login is activated.
You can then log into admin and, if you like, enter a logo or photograph and a description of yourelf and/or your business.
Then you can upload your files and photographs of your products, and enter the product details. Note that you - the designer - determine the selling price of your products.
You also decide in which category/categories each product will appear. I can add more categories on request if needed.
As a new product is entered, I get an email to let me know, and then I can approve (or not) the product. Once that is done, the product appears on the site for sale.
When a sale has been made of a product, you will get email to let you know (you will only ever know about sales of your own products - not of other designers).
You will also then see a list of all your sales on the admin site when you log in, including how much you will earn from the sale.
If you have a paid membership, you will get 50% of the untaxed selling price. If you have a free membership, you will get 20% of the untaxed selling price. For a more detailed explanation of the breakdown, please see Who Gets What.
You will be paid via PayPal (in $Australian) on the first day of each month.

Step-By-Step detail of how to register as a designer 1. Register as a customer by clicking here (all these links open in a new window). Important: When your products are sold, you will be paid by PayPal. The email address you give me here should be your PayPal email address. 2. Register as a designer by clicking here. 2.1 Your "Admin Username" is chosen by you. This is what you will be using when you log in to update your products. Choose something (one word) that you will remember easily. 2.2 Your "Designer Code" will appear as part of the product code for each of your products. It will be seen by the customers. If you leave it blank, there will be no designer code added. 2.3 Your password is the one you will use to log in when you update your products. Choose something you will remember easily but that is not too obvious. 3. Visit here to choose whether you want the free or the paid membership. Once you have added the membership to the cart, click on View Basket in the shopping cart box on the left of the screen and go through the cart process. If you choose the paid membership, you must select PayPal Subscription as the payment method. (Note: you will be automatically charged the same amount in 1 year, unless you cancel your membership before then). 4. Once you have paid your membership fee in PayPal (or not, if you chose the free membership), you will automatically be emailed a link to where you can download the Designer Training Manual. You can start reading this, but you won't be able to log in and start entering your products until your membership has been approved. You will be notified by email within 48 hours of whether your membership has been approved. If it isn't approved and you have paid, you will get a full refund immediately. 5. While you are awaiting approval, you can start to prepare your products (pdf files of patterns or e-books, or videos or embroidery files, or whatever!). Also, you will need a picture of each product, a description and a price. There is more detail on what is needed in the Designer Training Manual. |
